Blekinge's cities offer a variety of fantastic options.
Sölvesborg, located on the border to Skåne, Österlen and Hanö, attracts with the old fishing villages Hörvik and Nogersund and the tempting smell of fried herring and smoked salmon. The area around Olofström is rightly known as Sweden's southernmost wilderness. In the lakes Harasjömåla, Halen and Immeln and many other waters you can fish for char - or just relax in the canoe. It is warmly recommended that literature enthusiasts visit the former homes of Swedish writers Harry Martinson and Sven Edvin Saljes at Författarbygden, as well as Alltidhults skola where both went to school.

In the archipelago of Hällaryd lies the city of Karlshamn with its exciting cultural district. Tobacco barn, punch factory and the silversmith’s shop are worth a visit! Or maybe you’d like to say hello to the wild animals in Eriksberg, Scandinavia's largest safari park? For curious minds, the interactive science museum Kreativum is just the thing. And those who visit Laxens Hus, the house of salmon, will understand why the small village of Mörrum is known worldwide for salmon fishing.

Fishing in Blekinge - a great experience! In the shallow, reedy bays fresh water from Blekinge’s numerous rivers mixes with salty sea water. This mixture provides ideal growth conditions for the fish. Today many recreational anglers value sustainable fishing and therefore catch their fish according to the catch & release principle. As already mentioned, you can experience world-class salmon fishing at the Mörrumsån river. In April, salmon and sea trout come to the bay of Pukavik in the west and to Hasslö and Karlskrona further east, from where they go up the rivers to spawn. High season for trolling!
Even the pike, which has disappeared from large parts of Sweden, is still native to Blekinge's brackish waters. At the annual pike festival Blekinge Gäddfestival catch weights of 10-12 kilos are not uncommon. Even kayak fishing, a method providing particularly intense fishing experiences, enjoys increasing popularity.
Pike, perch, sea trout and herring can also be fished very well from land - a popular activity for the whole family.
Blekinge's eight golf courses have teamed up under the name Sveriges Golfkust. At a comfortable distance from each other there is everything from seaside courses to golf courses with park character and pay & play. Or how about a round of golf in challenging forest terrain? Golfing in Blekinge means wonderful nature experience as well as all-season summer greens.
Sydostleden: An increasing interest in cycling holidays triggered the recent opening of the south-east route. The bike path leads from Vaxjö to Tingsryd in Småland, from where it follows the river Mörrumsån towards Olofström, Karlshamn and Sölvesborg in Blekinge. It goes on right across Skåne, past Bromölla, Kristianstad and Tomelilla, to the destination Simrishamn. The 270 km long track can be easily divided into shorter sections. It is also possible to take bicycles onto the archipelago ferries and explore the islands from the saddle.
